The story behind the artwork
A stunning circular 3D Original world map, in which pastel hued continents hover above sky-blue reflected seas and oceans. A pair of ornamented elephants stand serenely at the foot of this imagined worldscape, a serene calm emanating from their jewelled headdresses. Emerald green palms reach skyward, seeking passing balloons that weave their stealthy trail between Africa and the Americas. Vibrantly coloured flora, from dalmatian spotted orchid and canary liles, acid blue hydrangea and bowing foxglove mingle with creatures of the land and sea. A pair of goldfish, resplendent on either side of the circular tableau, part the waters with their magnificent tails and symbolise hope and re-birth within this pulsating arena where nature is the true hero.

Bespoke Hand and laser cut paper collage. Digitally designed, hand sculpted paper elements are painstakingly pinned in place onto a thick foam board, creating a stunning three dimensional effect.
